Exectuive Roles at DEGS

President

  • Oversees Society operations and ensures effectiveness.

  • Guides and supports Council members.

  • Represents graduate engineering students to Dalhousie administration.

  • Chairs both Board and Council meetings.

VP Internal

  • Supports and substitutes for the President when needed.

  • Maintains contact lists and meeting minutes.

  • Manages internal communications and Society merchandise.

  • Coordinates with Member Societies and DSU reps.

  • Publicizes meetings, prepares agendas, books rooms.

  • Oversees the President's responsibilities.

VP External

  • Represents the Society at Faculty of Engineering Council and Sexton Campus Entertainment Committee meetings.

  • Acts as a liaison with external organizations and volunteer groups.

  • Promotes graduate studies to undergraduate engineering students.

  • Chairs the Student Activities Committee.

  • Distributes information from external contacts to Society members.

  • Maintains and updates the Society website and social media platforms.

VP Finance

  • Manages all Society finances (receiving, paying, budgeting).

  • Keeps financial records per DSU rules.

  • Presents budgets and funding requests.

  • Audits and allocates funds to Member Societies.

  • Reports on finances and prepares audit materials when required.
